Lose fat diets claim they can rid you of those extra pounds using nothing but their patented method, which frequently requires the consumption of a particular kind of “super food” that removes fat from the body.
While not all lose fat diets are scams, the vast majority of them contain questionable advice and methodologies to help lose weight. Before choosing to engage in the month’s most popular diet, do some research on the advice given and gauge whether their techniques actually stack up to basic science.
Fat is built up in the body via a spectacularly simple manner: if more energy in the form of food is consumed than is used, it becomes fat. The cause behind obesity is well documented and is not any sort of modern medical mystery. Thus, if a person opts to go on a diet, it simply means that they are actively choosing to adjust their daily routine and eating habits to ensure they use more energy than they consume from food. Energy, of course, is commonly referred to as a calorie.
When scrutinizing lose fat diets, simply examine whether or not their advice recommends consuming less calories and using more. It can be difficult to tell from simply reading a few pages, but a quick way to discern if a weight loss diet is likely to have any positive effect is to look for a phrase that claims no exercise is needed. It is true that exercise is not needed to lose weight; however, the alternative to not doing physical activity is to literally starve the body.
This, of course, can have a myriad of negative effects, and the most likely result will be a person’s inability to continue the diet. This is not because of a lack of willpower or any such thing, but is simply because the human body demands food. It is wired into our brains that in order to continue the act of living, we must eat. As a result, when deprived of food the mind will start screaming for it because our brain assumes that the body is dying, which, in a way, it is.
A diet that will produce tangible results which stick necessarily dictates a change in lifestyle. Eating less and moving more are the proven methods of losing weight in a healthy manner. Any book or article that claims to create weight loss in any other manner is undermining the body’s natural processes, and will doubtless lead to poor results.
