If you or a close family member is overweight, it seems that most of our fat is around the belly. When you want to lose weight, the main thing everyone truly wants to know is how to lose fat belly as quickly as possible.
Belly Fat is a real epidemic and if you ask your doctor, he/she would agree. When you visit your doctor the first thing they will do during a physical is measure your waist. Fat that is stored around the belly puts people at risk of high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, type-2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke. If you don’t know your waist circumference, then get out that tape measure and find out. Another key value you should know is your BMI or Body Mass Index.
So what are the values that your doctor will be concerned about? Well, the values vary on ethnicity and gender but tend to fall into these groupings:
Caucasian, European, Mediterranean or Middle Eastern:
Men – less than 40 inches (102 cm)
Women – less than 35 inches (88 cm)
Asian, Indian, Ethnic South & Central American:
Men – less than 35 inches (90 cm)
Women – less than 32 inches (80 cm)
Other factors include the persons age (18-65) and not pregnant or breastfeeding.
So why is there so much fat around peoples bellies?
Today’s life is hectic, rushed, and can be very stressful. Many of us don’t cook regular meals anymore and when we do it is usually something we just have to heat up and serve. If it can’t be ready within a few minutes, most won’t bother with it. That’s convenience, that’s why fast food is very popular and that’s also why there is so much belly fat in the United States today.
How to Lose Fat Belly Quickly
Learning how to lose fat belly is fairly easy to do, but most will not like it. Why? Generally it involves not eating loads of those sugary and convenient foods we adore so much. What you eat is a major key in the reduction and elimination of the fat on your belly and everywhere else on your body as well. If you eat meals consisting of the major food groups, your body will adjust and the fat will be used instead of stored. Many think that eating healthier means less convenience and more time yet this isn’t necessarily true. We only need to re-learn how to eat healthy which will open our eyes to all the quick and easy options that we have available to us.
